Everyone,
Poly High School had its Club Faire Day recently, and Robin
Thorne, several of our existing S Club members, and I, set up
a table and went to work recruiting new members. Robin and the
girls were amazing!! They were walking up to young girls and
bringing them to the table to sign up! Would you believe that
we had over 70--yes, seventy--girls sign up as interested???!! And
that doesn't include the girls who are returning. I know that not
all 70 will join, but I'm looking forward to our first meeting to
see how many show up!
On a related note, there is a retreat on Sunday, October 22nd,
in Manhattan Beach from 12:30--3:30 p.m. for Poly
S
Club
and Manhattan Beach S Club. We're hoping to plan a joint
project and learn more about the larger S Club retreat which
occurs in the spring. SI Manhattan Beach is sending a few of its
members who are involved with S Club. Of course, I'll be
there. If anyone of you is interested in attending, please let me
know as soon as you can so that I can ensure you get an invitation.
Not all of the S Club girls will attend--mostly officers and
those who have been involved for some time along with a few new
girls who will hope will keep the momentum going.
